MIDLAND - Midland wants travelers to choose the tall city for their next vacation spot.
The city celebrated Travel and Tourism Week at the Cimarex Energy Pavilion on Tuesday.
Now to some, Midland may not sound like a hot spot for tourism but Councilman Jerry Morales disagrees.
"I serve on the Texas Restaurant Association State Board and when I get to go to the state meetings, they're like, "well how do you have anything because you don't have any lakes out there." I said, "I promise you, we have the best restaurants, best museums, best baseball, best football stadium, you don't need water. We got it in Midland, Texas," Morales said.
Travel and tourism generated 3,000 jobs in Midland and over $400 million was brought into the city from visitor spending.
