MIDLAND - We now know the identity of the man who led Midland Police on a brief chase on Monday night.
Hipolito Garcia Junior is facing multiple charges including felony drug possession and evading arrest.
The chase started around 8:30 p.m. when a Chevy Tahoe hit a pole close to the intersection of Wall Street and Midkiff.
When officers arrived, Garcia backed out and took off, then he crashed into an alley behind Illinois avenue.
Garcia then fled on foot, but he was caught after a short chase that ended in the 3200 block of Kessler.
He was taken to the hospital after cops found out that he swallowed an unknown narcotic.
They also found pot and cocaine in Garcia's vehicle.
