ODESSA - Three aggravated robberies occurred overnight and now Odessa Police are warning people to be alert if they have to go out after dark. All the robberies happened within a five-hour time frame.
According to Sgt. Sherrie Carruth with the Odessa Police Department, two women were making a night drop at the ATM at the Prosperity Bank located on East 42nd Street. That's when one of the women noticed something out of ordinary.
"The driver of the vehicle noticed that there was a car driving around slowly. She was the one that also noticed that the suspect was coming towards them and she told the other one to get back in the car, she goes to take off and he fires several rounds," Carruth said.
According to Carruth, no one was injured in the shooting the description of the subject is as follows.
The subject in the shooting is described as a Black male, 6'2", approximately 200 pounds, wearing a black jacket with white sleeves. He was also seen walking with a backpack.
The second aggravated robbery took place at the Pizza Hut on East University. Carruth says a black male came in through the back door demanding money. However, since no money was given to him, he became violent.
"He did hit one of the employees on the back of the head. For what reason, it doesn't seem to make any sense. He decided that he wanted their cell phones as that was a way from having them calling the police," Carruth said.
The suspect in the robbery is described as a black male 6'2" between 200 and 230 pounds with black hair and colored eyes and a slight complexion. He was wearing a white shirt that he used to cover his face. He also had on a black jacket and black pants.
However, the robberies for the night did not end there. A third robbery happened at 3:35 a.m. Tuesday morning at the 7-11 located on East 52nd Street.
According to Carruth, the vandal walked into the store pointing a gun at the clerk and demanded money. She didn't see a gun because he supposedly had it wrapped under a towel. He did manage to get away with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, six feet tall, about 280 pounds, wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and white shoes. He also had a white towel covering his face.
