Posted: Updated:

Avid motorcycle riders spent the day outside enjoying the weather and raising money and awareness for one local group of mother's for a cause.

More than one hundred riders gathered at Tripp's Harley Davidson for the first annual Ride For Mama's, an event hosted by the group "Mama's Against Methamphetamine". The groups works to educate the public and families about the hazards of meth, Something they say is a problem even right here in Amarillo.

"If you have children, start educating them now because that's our only hope against the drugs," said Jodie Jones, spokesperson for the group. "And it's not anything to be ashamed of it's just, it happens and you need to know what to do about it."

Mama's Against Meth does have an official location in Amarillo at 3706 Mockingbird. They also host support group meetings every Thursday at six o'clock.
