Colleen Nelson

Colleen joined NewsChannel 10 in April 2013. She comes to KFDA from Connecticut, where she was born, raised, and graduated from Quinnipiac University with magnum cum laude honors and a degree in Broadcast Journalism. 

Colleen was an active member of the student run Quinnipiac University news station, Q30 News, where she reported and anchored for 3 1/2 years before graduating a 1/2 semester early to get a jump start on her Broadcast Journalism career! While attending Quinnipiac University she completed internships at Connecticut CBS and NBC affiliate stations. In addition to her internship work Colleen also worked at News 12 Connecticut as a freelance Associate Producer.

Colleen's passion for broadcast journalism started early in life when she got involved with her home town cable affiliate, Cox Cable, in the production and hosting of regularly scheduled local broadcasts.  While attending Enfield High School Colleen introduced the first morning radio show where she hosted and created daily programming.

Colleen loves staying active and also enjoys reading, traveling, painting and photography. If you see Colleen around town, feel free to say hi and welcome her to her new Texas home! She loves meeting new people and is excited to make new friends in the Panhandle area.
