MIDLAND - Several things are on the agenda this week for the Midland City Council meeting.
First, members will consider a resolution that will allow the city attorney to handle any requests coming from plaintiffs in two train accident lawsuits.
The resolution also allows the city to get expert advice on dealing with these requests.
City leaders will also be amending an ordinance that was drafted after the train tragedy.
The Patriot Guard Riders will be exempt from the special events ordinance. The group appealed to the City Council saying they couldn't afford the $2 million insurance policy that the ordinance required.
Last week, the city said the riders would be considered as an honor procession. This is similar to a funeral procession meaning they don't have to get the insurance or the special event permit.
And the warmer weather means more water usage but don't get the sprinklers out just yet. City leaders will be discussing changes to water rates at Tuesday's meeting.
They'll also get an update on the progress of the T-Bar Ranch project.
