HOBBS, N.M. - The City of Hobbs wants to recruit more officers to their police force and now they're adding some pretty big reasons to take a second look.

An incentive package was approved by the City Council this week.

It would include bonuses for bilingual officers, for swat volunteers and for officers who continue their education.

It would also make the starting pay $22 an hour.

Those same incentives could also be used for the fire department.
