ODESSA - One man is on the run after shots were fired in Ector County.
Officials tell NewsWest 9 that around 1:35 p.m. Thursday afternoon, a deputy was investigating a stolen car in the 300 block of Clifford.
The deputy then walked up to the car and that's when the suspects attempted to run over the deputy.
The deputy then fired three shots at the vehicle and the suspects took off on foot.
One person was detained for questioning but has not been arrested at this time. The man on the run is described as a Hispanic male, wearing black shorts and pants with a white T-shirt and a ball cap.
U.S. Marshals along with Odessa Police, DPS and Ector County Sheriff's are on the scene searching for the suspect.
Travis Elementary was placed under lockdown while the search was underway. The lockdown has since been lifted and the regular after-school pickup routine will be in place at Travis.
