ALPINE - More drama in Alpine. The city manager is now out of a job after council members voted him out.
This all comes after an audit revealed credit card misuse, overspending and payroll advances by city workers.
On Tuesday night, City Councilman Carlos Lujan notified NewsWest 9 of the 3-2 vote to remove Chuy Garcia as city manager.
This is after a lengthy evaluation of the audit at Tuesday night's City Council meeting.
It was standing room only during the meeting as public members of the community gathered to have those results brought to light.
The auditor said his main concerns were the city's overspending, abuse of overtime by city employees and payroll advances.
During the meeting, Garcia told the council that he had started to implement changes in how the city operates.
But now it is not known how that will play out.
NewsWest 9 will continue to follow this story.
