COLORADO CITY- A banner displaying a picture of missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn will be traveling with Culpepper & Merriweather Circus. Organizers with United for Hailey hope by doing just that, someone will recognize her face and solve the mystery of her disappearance.
Colorado City families gathered inside a tent to be amused and wowed. But the event was also a way to spread the message about Hailey Dunn.
"It's Hailey day in Colorado City," Melissa Gooch, United For Hailey Organizer, said.
The traveling circus will visit various towns. Each person in the audience will also see the banner displayed during performances. Organizers hope someone out there will know the whereabouts of the missing teen.
"Putting it up everywhere they go. So Hailey's name will be out. Thousands and thousands of people every week will be able to see Hailey's face and be looking for her," Gooch said.
Remains were found a couple of weeks ago in Scurry County, but who they belong to is a mystery for now.
"There's been others that's been gone for 20 years that we've found. So we don't know we just have to keep looking. There's like five families in the area that's waiting on the news, it's not just Hailey," Gooch said.
NewsWest 9 asked Gooch her thoughts about Billie Dunn having suspicions that her ex-boyfriend, Shawn Adkins, may have had something to do with Hailey's disappearance.
"I do find it odd, no doubt. But I don't know, only Billie can answer those questions. She's the one who knows how she feels," Gooch said.
Momentous of the would be 15-year-old, were displayed for everyone to see. United For Hailey says they're still holding out hope for the teen.
