BIG SPRING - An elementary school in Big Spring that has been vacant for almost a year will be filled with children again.
The school district decided to donate Bauer Elementary to their local Head Start Program.
With four new campuses set to open soon in the city, officials decided to leave the school empty back in May.
After several months of inspections and negotiations with Greater Opportunities of the Permian Basin, the project was given the green light.
Bauer is expected to be up and running by the start of the next school year.
