MIDLAND - Midland Police are still investigating a bomb threat called into a Midland Stripes on Tuesday afternoon.
City of Midland Public Information Officer Sara Higgins tells NewsWest 9 that at approximately 1 p.m., a woman called the Stripes at 2109 S. Midkiff Road, just south of Interstate 20. She verified the location and then threatened that a bomb would explode at that location between 1:30 and 2 p.m.
Midkiff Road was shut down from Interstate 20 to West Stokes Avenue as well as the north service road of the Interstate in the area. Police evacuated the area, in search for a possible explosive device.
The Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) team was also on scene.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., officers determined there were no explosives to be found.
The scene was cleared and the Stripes was re-opened for business.
Police are still investigating the call.
We're told they do have some leads they're pursuing.
