MIDLAND - The Midland City Council didn't make any changes on Tuesday morning to their special events ordinance.
The Patriot Guard argues the ordinance is threatening to shut down their mission of honoring veterans and fallen heroes.
However the council did vote on general liability insurance for the city.
They say this is the first step of looking into possible changes for the ordinance.
Patriot Guard members say they are optimistic but will continue to come to council meetings to keep the issue alive.
NewsWest 9's Geena Martinez was at the meeting and will have reaction to the decision tonight on NewsWest 9 at 6 p.m.
