HOWARD COUNTY - The cold front that rolled through the Basin on Saturday evening kept Howard County firefighters busy overnight.
Our media partners at KBYG in Big Spring are reporting that downed power lines from the strong wind gusts are to blame for sparking several blazes in southeast Howard County.
Volunteer Fire Chief Tommy Sullivan says the fire sparked up near Snyder Field Road and 821.
It scorched about 250 acres but quick thinking and fast action kept this fire from becoming much worse.
A few other smaller fires were contained and no structure damage reported, although there were some "close calls."
