ODESSA - Federal agents are searching for a man who robbed an Odessa bank at gunpoint earlier this week. On Wednesday, the Midland FBI released surveillance footage that you'll only see on NewsWest 9.
The exclusive video shows the man who walked into the West Texas Educators Credit Union on Monday morning. Federal authorities say he showed a black handgun and demanded money. It's not known how much money he took, but what agents are aiming for, is that someone will hopefully recognize him, by the way he moves, by the type of gloves he's wearing and by the hooded camouflage jacket he has on.
His acts brought several Odessa Police units to the 4400 block of East 52nd Street that day to investigate the robbery. No one was hurt. The tellers who had to go through this whole ordeal told police the suspect was about average build and is over six feet tall.
His face was covered and in the video he is seen wearing Nike running shoes and apparently wearing carpenter jeans. The video also shows him swinging his brown bag over his shoulder and although he looks directly at the camera, authorities still can not make out a face.
If you have any information on this robbery, call Odessa Crime Stoppers 333-TIPS. Your tip could lead to a $1,000 cash reward.
