ODESSA - Even though the victim's body hasn't been found, a grand jury indicted an Odessa man for murder.
We're told 26-year-old Jesus Venegas confessed to the murder after being arrested during a traffic stop in January.
He was taken in for not having a valid driver's license.
We're told he confessed to the murder soon after that.
According to the affidavit, Venegas says he stabbed the victim, Rene Sanchez, several times.
He then confessed that he buried Sanchez somewhere near Interstate 20 and Moss, however, officers were not able to find the body.
Detectives say Sanchez went to a neighbor's house for some drinks back in 2008 and Venegas was there.
Detectives say Sanchez and Venegas left to get more beer and Venegas was the last person to see him.
