SCURRY COUNTY - The investigation continues into the human remains found at Lake JB Thomas in Scurry County over the weekend.
Of course, there is a lot of speculation as to whether the remains are that of Hailey Dunn, the missing Colorado City teen, who vanished back in 2010.
"We're like everyone else," Terrye Newcomb, part of Hope For Hailey, said. "We want to know, is it our girl?'"
Members of the Hope for Hailey search team gathered at the place the young girl once called home.
"We're going to be here for one another. If it happens to be Hailey, we're going to be here for the family," Newcomb said. "My hope is that it's not Hailey, my hope is that she comes home safe and sound."
Haileys father, Clint, is in Colorado City, after learning the remains could be his daughters. Friends says Clint is waiting to speak out until the remains have been identified.
"If it really is her, at least her father can finally put her rest. I know he's going to break really hard," family friend, Zerick Gutierrez, said. "We're all going to be here for him, in case he does fall, we'll just pick him up piece by piece."
On Monday, Hailey's mom, Billie Dunn, told NewsWest 9, authorities will compare dental records as opposed to DNA testing for faster results.
Trooper Sparky Dean, out of Abilene, tells NewsWest 9 no new information has been released and its not clear at this time if authorities will be at the scene on Wednesday to continue their investigation.
