FORT STOCKTON - A new scam has popped up in Fort Stockton. This time, it's targeting people looking for jobs.
One of the victims says she responded to a newspaper ad for an assistant property manager job and even got hired.
The scammers sent her fake money orders which she cashed at her bank.
She then used that money to other countries to supposedly to pay for building materials.
The bank discovered the money orders were counterfeit and took $7,000 out of her account to cover the cost.
Fort Stockton Police are working with federal authorities to find the scam suspects.
