One of the teenagers who lost their lives in a weekend crash in the Texas Panhandle has ties to the Basin.
17-year-old Christopher Moore lived in Midland for about a year with his mother and siblings before moving to Dumas to be with his dad.
The wreck happened Sunday afternoon when the teens ran a stop sign.
A tanker truck hit the side of their car which caused both the car and tanker to go up in flames.
Moore and four other teens died in the crash.
The driver of the tanker is still in the hospital with severe burns.
A vigil will be held for the teenagers on Thursday night in front of the Moore County Courthouse.
