HOBBS, N.M. - There's been a crack in the counterfeit money case in Hobbs.
A man was caught red handed with some of that funny money.
Police say 46-year-old Chalie Miles paid for gas with a fake $20 bill.
The clerk noticed it wasn't the real deal, gave the bill back and called police.
Officers were able to track down his car.
We're told miles let them search it, and that's when the found $300 worth of counterfeit bills in the passenger seat.
The man who owns the car is in trouble too.
He told police he got the fake cash from his boss.
So far, only Miles has been charged.
