MIDLAND COUNTY - More cameras are on their way into the Midland County Jail.
On Monday morning, County Commissioners gave the sheriff the green light to place more cameras around the facility.
It's all in an effort to make sure the jail is as safe and secure as possible.
"That jail was only approved for operation this past summer so it's a relatively new jail and as you've probably done in your lifetime you draw something up on paper and you say that camera should see that and then you get there and that camera doesn't see that corner," Midland County Judge, Mike Bradford, said.
Sheriff Gary Painter tells NewsWest 9, he identified "blind spots" around the jail.
However, he would not elaborate as to where they are located.
The additional cameras will cost $74,000.
