ODESSA - A motorcyclist is in custody after leading DPS Troopers on a high speed chase in Odessa on Saturday night.
It all started around 7:30 p.m.
Officials say they tried making a routine traffic stop on a motorcycle near Yukon Road in Odessa.
The motorcyclist did not stop and led law enforcement on a high speed chase.
DPS was going to call off the chase because it was becoming too dangerous to continue through town but the suspect laid down his bike on 1300 block of West University and took off running.
He was caught quickly at the intersection of West County Road and University in Odessa.
We're told the motorcyclist is a young male.
The Ector County Sheriff's Office assisted in the pursuit.
