Large water main breaks now fixed

Posted: Updated:

Two large water main breaks affecting dozens of area residents Monday are now fixed.

City officials say crews were repairing the issue since Monday morning, and the water should be flowing once again.

The one on the 6300 block of Arden road happened around 3:00 a.m. The city of Amarillo says they had to call in extra crews to help.

There's another large water main that broke Monday morning after a contractor hit it near the intersection of Perry and Fanchun. It caused Hillside Elementary to be left without water for several hours.

City officials brought water bottles for the students in the school this afternoon. As far as the hole in the ground and roadblocks, they should be gone Tuesday.
