Authorities Investigating After Carlsbad Man Was Found Dead at Oilfield Disposal Site

EDDY COUNTY, N.M. - Eddy County sheriff's deputies are continuing to investigate the death of a Carlsbad man who was found on Friday.

The body of 48-year-old Lester Howell was found at about 8:30 p.m. at an oilfield waste water disposal site just south of U.S. 285.

Authorities say the case is being treated as an industrial accident.

Howell was working with Southwest Transportation out of Artesia for a little less than a month.

His body has been sent to Albuquerque for an autopsy.
