ALPINE - Alpine city employees who took cash advances will have to pay the city back immediately.
That decision was made after an executive meeting last Tuesday night.
Among them is Financial Director Ricky Chavez who owes $9,000.
The council member who made this motion said the amount could be raised if any other unauthorized withdrawals are found.
The City Council will now require two signatures on all of their checks, that of the City Manager and the Mayor.
The move comes after a recent audit of the city finances.
