MIDLAND - Two men are in custody after a high speed chase in Midland.
DPS Troopers tell NewsWest 9, they attempted to stop a Ford F-150 Extended Cab in downtown Midland around 10:15 p.m.
The truck wouldn't stop and led police on a high speed chase to North Midland.
The chase reached speeds in excess of 80 miles per hour.
During the chase, authorities noticed two Hispanic males in the truck dumping what they believe was narcotics out of the vehicle.
The chase ended about 30 minutes later in a vacant lot in the 500 block of Network Drive when the driver tried to flee across the vacant lot but the truck wrecked out.
Both of the men fled and were later caught by officials.
Officials say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the chase.
Numerous agencies including DPS, Midland Police and the Midland County Sheriff's Office were involved in the chase.
The DPS helicopter was also called in to help.
There's no word yet what charges the men will face.
