HOBBS, N.M. – Police are investigating after an early morning shooting in Hobbs.
Hobbs Police tells NewsWest 9, they received several 911 calls in reference to shot being fired in the area of Pecos and Brazos.
A short time later, officials received a 911 call from 26-year-old Sammy Pinon stating that he had been shot.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found two crime scenes. One was located in the area of Pecos and Penasco and the second was located in the 1500 block of North Brazos.
Pinon was transported to Lea Regional Medical Center and later airlifted to University Medical Center in Lubbock.
Hobbs Police are asking citizens with information to contact them at (575) 397-9265.
The investigation continues.
