TxDOT brings in reinforcement

Posted: Updated:

Amarillo, TX - TxDOT says they've brought in more reinforcement to help with their efforts.

Extra workers have come all the way from El Paso and Dallas.

Plows are out Tuesday morning and they are also sanding and salting the roads.

Residents are being urged to remain indoors so areas with ice patches and slush can be cleared.

Last night TxDOT was able to clear several stranded vehicles.

Spokesman Paul Braun says the magnitude of the storm made it hard for them to plow in outlying and rural areas Monday.
