BIG SPRING - A former youth minister in Big Spring pled guilty to raping a 13 year old child.
Now, he'll spend 25 years in prison for the crime.
72-year-old Samuel Lyte cut the plea deal last week which the district attorney says was approved by the victim's family.
According to the Big Spring Herald, the pastor of Mount Bethel Church confirmed Lyte met the girl while he was a youth minister there in 2010.
In early 2011, Lyte was released.
That's after the victim's father approached the pastor with a letter written by his daughter meant for Lyte.
The pastor told the paper the letter was not sexual in nature but inappropriate.
