Hereford, TX - An area resident remains in critical condition after being injured at work.

It happened Friday night during a routine cleaning operation within the Tejas Industries cannery facility in Hereford.

We're told an employee was seriously injured when a piece of machinery inadvertently started as it was apparently not locked-out properly.

He was airlifted to Northwest Texas Hospital where he is receiving treatment.

The company is currently working with government agencies to address the incident.
