LEA COUNTY, N.M. - A former Lea County deputy was will be heading to prison for molesting a family member.
The guilty verdict came down this evening for 61-year-old Danny Surratt after jurors deliberated for six hours.
He now faces 18 years behind bars.
Surratt was convicted for molesting a family member who was eight years old.
However, it isn't over for Surratt.
He actually will go to trial again in the future for a separate molestation case.
Surratt was convicted last year but a judge threw out the guilty verdict.
