ODESSA - A 48-year-old man is dead after being hit by a pick-up on Andrews Highway Thursday night.
Israel Chavez died at the scene. It happened in the 3500 block of North Andrews Highway around 8:30 p.m.
According to the preliminary investigation, Chavez was walking from the west curb line of Andrews Highway toward the east curb line. The vehicle was traveling northbound in the outside lane on Andrews Highway. That's when the vehicle struck Chavez as he was crossing the street.
The investigation is ongoing and so far no charges have been filed.
