McLean, Texas - As gas prices increase, so does the line at one area communities food pantry.

There's no where in the town of McLean to purchase groceries. The nearest grocery store is 25 miles in Shamrock or 30 miles in Pampa.

The once again rising gas prices are making it hard for many families in that small town to put food on their family's table.

The Loaves and Fishes Ministries food pantry has been a staple for the community where we're told jobs are scarce. The number of people who are in line here on grocery day doubles when gas prices are higher.

"We're taking food to people and delivering to people that maybe the have food stamps or maybe they have government assistance, but they can't even afford much less gas to put in it. And so, how are they going to drive 30 miles 40 miles to get groceries when literally they just live day by day," Ronnie Ferguson, Loaves and Fishes says.

Loaves and Fishes provides groceries to an average of 100 families a month. Many of them who say they can't afford to drive the distance to get them themselves.
