Snow conditions update

Posted: Updated:

Amarillo, Texas - At last report, on February 12th, there have been 42 snow-related wrecks in Amarillo.

As temperatures fall, the moisture on the roadways will more than likely re-freeze.

TxDot tells us the areas most likely to re-freeze are bridges, overpasses, ramps, and intersections.

They also say when it comes to icy roads, looks can be very deceiving.

When winter conditions are in full force, TxDot crews remain on duty throughout the nighttime hours treating slick and icy areas.

Motorists are asked to either stay home if they don't have to drive, or drive with extreme caution during the evening and overnight hours.
