MIDLAND – One man is dead after a home invasion in Midland.
Midland Police received a call in reference to a fight and possible stabbing at a home in the 700 block of Boyd early Tuesday morning.
Midland Police tell NewsWest 9, an investigation revealed that 22-year-old Nicholas Johnson, 24-year-old Michael Sawyer, 22-year-old Marcus Hyson, and 22-year-old Megan Sparks forcefully gained entry into 22-year-old Cody Booth's residence with the intent to assault Booth. A fight broke out between the involved parties, during which Booth retrieved a knife to defend himself.
Johnson was stabbed during the confrontation and was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Sawyer, Hyson and Sparks were arrested for burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault. Booth was arrested on unrelated warrants.
An autopsy will be performed on Johnson by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office.
