An independent film maker has his eye on the Permian Basin for his next film.

Peter Mackenzie was recently in Midland for a screening of his movie "Doonby."

He's now looking to make a comedy later this year.

Mackenzie is interested in doing most of his filming in Big Spring.

He has the Hotel Settles and the downtown area in mind.

The $4 million project, called "Finklestein's Miracle," will have some big names but Mackenzie hasn't revealed them yet.
