We know now what caused the death of an Alpine man at the Big Bend Ranch State Park.
A preliminary autopsy says 58-year-old Clifford Kocher died from hypothermia.
The coroner's office says Kocher fractured his thigh bone, which kept him from moving to safety when the cold moved in.
Kocher's body was found by two of his friends at the park after a week long search.
Kocher was apparently hiking when the accident happened.
