WINK - A man, hit in the head with a pipe in Wink after a drunken fight, is no longer in the hospital.
The Winkler County Sheriff tells NewsWest 9, 26-year-old Zachary Guidry, and the victim, Joe Fief, were drunk and arguing over a handgun.
That's when Guidry attacked fief with the pipe hitting him several times in the head and throat.
With the help of witnesses, deputies tracked down Guidry to a camper.
He surrendered without any problems.
The sheriff told NewsWest 9, the man was working in oilfield temporarily.
Fief was taken to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa where he is no longer being treated. It's unclear if Fief was flown elsewhere or treated and released.
