MIDLAND - Justice was handed down in a Midland district courtroom in connection with the murder of a Midland man.

In the end, three men were all held accountable for the 2011 death of Tovorian Carter.

Reginald Anders was sentenced to 20 years behind bars, Grant Fowler received 30 years behind bars and Edwin Smith will spend 35 years in prison.

They were all sentenced for their association with the robbery and murder.

The murder happened two days before Christmas in 2011 at the Parks at Caldera apartment complex.

According to police, the men planned to rob Carter of his drugs and money.

We're told Fowler and Smith kicked his door down and they were met with Carter pointing a gun at them.

However, it was Smith that fired his weapon, killing Carter.
