MIDLAND – A Midland High School student was transported to the hospital after she was hit by a vehicle on Wednesday just before 12:30 p.m.
Midland Police responded to the accident and witnesses told them that a black Chevrolet pickup hit the 17-year-old student in a parking lot at Midland High School.
Witnesses told police, the driver, who was also a 17-year-old student, was headed southbound on "D" Street when the driver drove over a curb near Ohio Avenue and accelerated westbound in the parking lot before hitting the female student.
The student was transported with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the pickup will be charged with reckless driving.
