BREWSTER COUNTY - The Brewster County Sheriff's Office met with the Alpine ISD school board at their meeting last week to talk about security issues in their schools.
Their talks started with a review of the shooter training that began during the holiday break.
They also talked about have entrances locked at all times in schools and setting up cameras on campuses and in administration buildings.
There was even a suggestion to have buttons installed in the classrooms that would send radio signals to law enforcement.
Another idea would be installing dead bolts on classroom doors.
Sheriffs say these ideas focused primarily on regular school hours and did not cover every type of situation.
