MIDLAND - The Midland Doubletree is being recognized for stepping up during the city's biggest time of crisis.
The staff was given the "Spirit of Care" Award for their efforts during the train crash back in November.
It's an award given by their corporate office.
Many of the families that flew in at the time were put up at the Midland hotel.
The manager says his staff went above and beyond to make the families feel as comfortable as possible.
The hotel was given a check but the staff decided to put that money in their funds for community service projects.
