ODESSA - The Odessa Homeless Coalition along with many other groups around West Texas got out bright and early to help those in need.
Before the sun even came out, volunteers got together to organize donation bags and hand out breakfast at encampments and shelters.
The groups are doing this as a way to get people to give them more information about their financial needs so they can get more help.
The Coalition says this is their tenth annual event but the first time they've handed out surveys to assess peoples' needs.
We're told that Ector ISD alone has over 700 homeless students.
