ODESSA - Police are continuing their murder investigation in connection with the death of a three year old Odessa boy.

Omar Frias Junior died at the Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth about two weeks ago.

Authorities say he had sustained blunt-force trauma in his abdomen.

Child Protective Services had been investigating an abuse report concerning the boy since March of last year.

After hearing about his death, they had his four-month-old brother placed in foster care.

A spokesperson for the agency said that two weeks before the boy's death, the children's mother had moved with the two kids into an apartment with her current boyfriend who is the younger child's alleged father.

CPS and police are still investigating.

They have not named any suspects at this time.
