ODESSA - An Odessa doctor accused of running a meth and painkiller distribution ring made an appearance in court on Thursday.
Doctor Barrett Whitefield pled guilty to his charges.
He and seven others were indicted for the crime last month.
According to the Drug Enforcement Agency, Whitefield and one his employees were working together to give out the controlled substances through fake prescriptions.
The doctor's medical license was also suspended by the State Medical Board.
