JAL, N.M. - A Lovington man died in an oilfield accident in Jal, New Mexico on Thursday.
Witnesses say 42-year-old Mario Perez fell from the floor of a pulling unit about 10 feet above the ground and hit his head on a casing riser valve.
The accident happened about nine miles south of the intersection at County Road two and State Road 128.
Deputies say there was no evidence of foul play.
