MIDLAND - Midland residents will have a new place to host special events starting in March.
Construction will begin on the Cimarex Energy Pavilion next week.
It's a new addition to the Scharbauer Sports Complex and is set to go between Grande Communications Stadium and the Citibank Ballpark.
The pavilion is a joint project between the Midland Rockhounds and Cimarex Oil Company.
The first event scheduled to take place when it opens will be a barbecue cook-off.
