Toyah's former Mayor was back in court on Thursday.
Bartolo Sanchez's attorney told a judge that he wanted additional time to get the case ready for trial.
He also requested several years' worth of Toyah City Council minutes.
A motion for more time hasn't been filed yet.
If it's granted, the trial could be pushed back to February.
Sanchez is accused of stealing thousands of dollars in city and federal funds.
He resigned his position as Mayor back in December.
He's out of jail on bond.
