MIDLAND - Midland Police caught one man red handed choking his wife.
Police responded to a home on holly drive after getting a call.
Officers say they saw 29-year-old Sergio Herrera on top of his wife with his hands around her neck, screaming at her.
According to their report, she almost lost consciousness.
When she came to, she told them Herrera was her common law husband for two years.
She refused medical treatment and did not want a protective order to keep him away.
Herrera was later arrested.
