ECTOR COUNTY - Ector County and two sheriff's deputies are being sued by a former inmate.

According to federal court documents, 54-year-old Jerry Bryant was arrested last year because he didn't have car insurance.

He was booked with a misdemeanor charge and released the next day.

While he was there, Bryant says he beaten up and tackled by the sheriff's deputies there.

The force of this treatment was so severe that it broke his right femur where he had a hip replacement prosthesis implanted just six weeks earlier.

The lawsuit claims that the two deputies had violated Bryant's rights.

Bryant is now demanding more than $100,000 in medical expenses.
